How Does TMS Work?

While TMS is a relatively new outpatient treatment, it has been studied extensively and is currently used in most academic centers nationwide (Emory, Harvard, John Hopkins, etc). TMS devices work on the central nervous system by applying targeted magnetic fields to specific brain regions that have been found important in the pathology of depression.
